Burton Park

History

On October 9, 1959, Ward Burton sold and gifted 10 acres of land surrounding the back bay of Carson's Bay to the City for a public park, and Burton Park was formed. Burton Park is a natural area consisting of mixed woodland areas and open grass spaces.

Burton Park is classified as a community park because of the adjacent grade school. The park is also available for overnight camping.

Access is available through either the Deephaven Elementary School property along Vine Hill Road or off Minnetonka Boulevard just west of the Carson's Bay Bridge. The park can also be entered off Manor Road.

Facilities:

bulletFree parking is available in the Deephaven Elementary School parking lot.
bulletLimited, off-street parking with permit (available off Minnetonka Boulevard)
bulletBenches are located in strategic areas around the park for bird watching and relaxation.
