August 14, 2007
Minutes
The
meeting was called to order at 1:30 p.m.
Mayor Paul Skrede, Jon Monson, Public Works Supervisor Jerry Hudlow, John Menzel, City Administrator Dana Young
None
Tim Latterner, owner of Dock & Lift, was present to discuss the proposed design for the ten new cruiser dock slips in St. Louis Bay. The Committee requested that Mr. Latterner prepare cross section detail of the proposed dock design for review by the Deephaven Boat Committee next month.
Mayor
Skrede stated that the Park Committee intends to more fully develop the
parkland surrounding the paddle tennis court area and the City Council requested
input from the Public Works Committee on whether there was a need to retain any
of this area for public works purposes.
Dana
Young produced a survey showing the location of a 75’ wide parcel between the
park Dedicated property and the LRT Trail that the City had purchased a number
of years ago from the railroad. The
Committee reviewed the 75’ wide parcel and concluded that it was an adequately
sized parcel to store various public works materials including wood chips and
seal coating pea gravel. Further
discussion was held on the possible installation of plantings along this 75’
parcel to delineate the public works parcel from Amesbury Park dedicated
property.
Motion
by Paul Skrede to recommend that the City retain the 75’ strip of property
located between the LRT Trail and Amesbury Park dedicated property for public
works related purposes. Seconded by Dana
Young. Motion carried 5-0.
Discussion was held on a request from John Goetz to improve the erosion on the trail through Burton Park. Dana Young recommended that Jerry Hudlow meet with Mr. Goetz to review his proposal in more detail before his request is forwarded to the Park Committee.
Motion
to adjourn by Dana Young, seconded by Jerry Hudlow. Motion carried 5-0.
