Ride Net Program CT Ride Net provides public and private transportation options. Anyone can use CT RideNet! With one call you will be in contact with a helpful operator that can assist in finding a ride and determine if you are eligible for assistance. 1-800-450-6100 Legal Advice The Senior Legal Services Project provides free, private consultation to senior residents of the area for personal legal questions. Matters needing further legal services will be referred to an appropriate office. Call the Center to make an appointment. (952)-474-7635 Minnesota Energy Assistance (952) 933-9639 This program assists with costs of energy such as heating bills between October 1 and September 30 each year. If you qualify, you could receive a grant to cover some of your energy expenses. And, if you receive energy assistance, you may qualify for weatherization services that can improve your home's energy efficiency and lower your energy bill as well as furnace repair or replacement assistance. Salvation Army Heat Share (612) 721-1668 This program helps with utility bills, troublesome furnaces and energy related repairs. They also provide budget counseling and financial assistance. To be eligible you must meet certain income guidelines. Senior Citizen Information Program - for Deephaven and Woodland Residents The Deephaven Police Department started a program for its Senior Citizens. The program is called the Senior Citizen Information Program and it was constructed to better serve the seniors of Deephaven and Woodland. The program is designed to check on the well being of seniors during or after an emergency, such as a severe storm, tornado, power outages, medicals, etc. If you are interested in the program, forms are available at the Deephaven Police Department or at the South Shore Center in Shorewood. The program is optional and participants may remove themselves at any time. The vitality of the center continues to expand after nearly 10 years. Activities, services and programs include health screening, exercise and dance classes, tax assistance and a wide range of cultural and educational opportunities from craft activities, watercolor classes, history lectures, bridge, to book discussions groups. The SouthShore Community Center principally serves the residents of Deephaven, Tonka Bay, Greenwood, Excelsior and Shorewood.
