Application for 2008 Tree Service License

Licenses Required for Certain Contractors The City of Deephaven requires plumbers, gas fitters, electricians, tree trimmers and building contractors to be currently licensed by the City of Deephaven before they are able to work in the City.  The City requires these contractors to be licensed for several reasons.  First, the licensing process ensures that gas fitters, electricians and building contractors are currently licensed through the State of Minnesota, which provides some assurance that these contractors are qualified professionals and are more likely to provide better quality work.  And second, licensing also requires these contractors to provide certificates of insurance demonstrating that they have proper insurance coverage in the event of an accident or some other unforeseen occurrence.

Prior to hiring a contractor to perform work in your house or property, please contact City Hall to ensure that the contractor you have selected is properly licensed to perform work in the City of Deephaven.

Parking permits Parking permit stickers are sent to all owner-occupied residential homes. These are exterior window stickers and they must be placed on the driver’s side of the vehicle as far to the rear as possible and in the lower corner. The sticker allows you to park from May 1 through October 1 in permit-only areas, including the City beaches and the Carson's Bay boat launch. If you park your vehicle in permit-only areas without a sticker, you are subject to a parking citation. If you rent your home, please contact City Hall about how to obtain a permit.

Recreational fires The Deephaven Police and the Excelsior Area Fire District strongly encourage residents to obtain an Annual Recreation Fire Permit. They are valid for one year and are available at the Police Department, which is located in the lower level of City Hall.
